Hello, congratulations on your transplant. I am 12 years post transplant. For the first 6-9 months I had a lot of nausea and gas, but they also had me on Magnesium two tablets three times a day because of my low magnesium levels. I was able to decrease the magnesium as time went on and the gas issues and nausea eventually resolved 9-12 months post transplant. Not sure if the magnesium had anything to do with it but it may have. At any rate, it will get better. It took me about two years to fully recover back to my normal self. Be patient.

@annmariaa, Good Morning and Welcome to Connect, where people are talking about their experiences with transplant. I am a nearly 10 year organ recipient, and I am especially delighted to hear of your 12 years.

I want to invite you to take a look at the many transplant discussion groups, and to know that you are welcome to join in anywhere. You can scroll thru the discussion topics as a starter. You can also watch Trending Posts on the Home page where a variety of health interests are contstantly updating. (Hint: there is an option to see oldest-newest, newest-oldest posts).

What condition led to your transplant?

I’ve figured it was going to take a while for my system to get to normal or whatever the new normal is going to be.
I have to remind myself to be more patient every now and then!

@annmariaa hello, I am 3 mos post liver transplant but have been dealing with many issues. I have been taking magnesium supplements as I am deficient in my levels. What does this mean and how does this affect my progress? Not sure if you can help with my queries but your experience is valuable knowledge. Thank you.
