Anxiety pains
Hello all. I want to make this as short as possible so bear with me. I suffer from depression and doctor says anxiety. The past 6 months I have been achy. Left arm, ribs area, and also frequently get the woozy feeling that lasts for hours at times with reflux. Also at time recently it feels I can’t finish a deep breath. Fearing my heart I have had numerous ekgs. Ecco scan. Stress test. Blood work and numerous trips to Er only for them to tell me it’s fine. Which if true is a relief.
I have tried a few medications to no avail and all my GP does is try a different one. We have tried buspar and dexacote.
With my anxiety as they say, could this possible be causing attacks on my body. I have heard about anxiety or panic attacks out of nowhere but is it possible for them to be this often? I can’t get any relief:(. I am not looking for diagnosis just some friendly feedback. Thank you all in advance

@jadillow - Hello. All of your body aches can cause the bodily aches and pains. Chemicals are released into the body when we are upset and can set off a whole slew of physical problems. Psychosomatic symptoms are as bothersome as other injuries. Something triggered these panic attacks- some memory or an incident. Can you think of anything that might have done this?
Not from top of my head
Hi, @jadillow - that sounds very difficult not only dealing with depression and anxiety, but also this concerning achiness that caused you to have your heart checked out. I know that for me, years ago when I was engaged to be married but also had some misgivings, I felt nauseous every day till I finally realized my body was actually telling me something. When I postponed my engagement (then eventually called it off), the nausea went away. So, I very much believe that anxiety can affect us greatly physically, and that at times our bodies are telling us something important.
I'd like to invite into this discussion more members who can speak to anxiety and whether it has had any physical manifestations for them, such as achiness, shallow breathing or feeling woozy. Please meet @cdcc @stellgma @petangelkat1 @ventibug @guener @happythinkingma. @becsbuddy @suscros68 and @gingerw may also have some thoughts for you.
What have you found, @jadillow, that seems to ease the physical symptoms at all?
@jadillow I was invited to this group by @lisalucier . I’ve had some anxiety issues this year because of my health and I’ve learned how to contro them. The first couple of times, like you, I went to the ER because I thought it was my heart. ER said my heart was fine but gave a cardiologist’s name so I could get a workup. The cardiologist determined that it was anxiety causing esophageal spasms (throat) which caused pain in the center of my chest. Now I carry Tums with me so I can settle my throat. I’ve also learned “tapping” which I can do when I start to get anxious. Google “the tapping solution “ for info and videos. Both things have changed everything for me. I really wish you luck in fixing things—I know it’s not easy, but just do your best. I’d like to know how you’re doing. This site is great with everyone caring for each other and trying to help. @jadillow @lisalucier Anxiety can be a real umbrella covering many things. Perhaps there is a change in your environment [new neighbor, construction that just started, you moved recently, etc.] Perhaps a family member or friend has had a change in their life and it is affecting you even if you don't think it is. Be gentle on yourself. Write out things that might causing these feelings. Seeing things on paper weakens them, takes away their power. Please let us know how you are doing. We here at Mayo Connect do care.

@becsbuudy- I had a bad year with esophageal spasm. They are awful. My GI doctor suggested FD Guard 2 x daily and omeprazole 2x daily. It really worked!
