Wondering if anyone familiar with SIBO diet knows if the diet is the same for sibo patients with ileocecal valve intact and for those without ileocecal valve....thanks

@rachel_b , when was your surgery?
@tiss it was back in 2012. I was trying to manage symptoms for a really long time by myself because I thought it was just food intolerances. I didn't start working with a GI doc or dietitian until last year.

1 ReactionThat is pretty shocking that your surgeon or primary didn't refer you to a GI after your surgery. It's a very hard surgery with some not so pleasant issues after. I'm sorry you suffered for so long. I am 62 and learned long ago to advocate for myself in health matters but didn't have the knowledge or bravery when I was young. So I commend you for taking control of things and finding a good doctor who will work with you. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

2 ReactionsIs probiotics good for sibo and which one is good
Please let me no if they work thank you
Thanks so much @tiss 🙂 I've been learning that lately too. I don't mean to bash my docs at all, because they've helped me a lot, but I'm still pretty surprised at the amount of research I've had to do and things I've had to figure out on my own. It's also helped so much having a supportive partner - he has helped me research so many things and has actually come up with more ideas than the doctors sometimes. Forums like this also help a lot 🙂 Thank goodness they exist! So much easier to network with people now than it was in the past and share stories/information.

4 Reactions@gina1963 I haven't tried many probiotics but @tiss mentioned that she has had a good experience with Align for SIBO.

1 ReactionMy favorite restaurants in Rochester at Casablanca and Mango Thai ..
I second that motion... Sometimes getting a referral from your local GP helps...
That is great to hear!
I am scheduled for March with a Motility Clinic Dr as a I also have rapid gastric emptying..doesn’t typically come with SIBO. I am SO weary from this, lost 70 lbs in 9 months, constipated and continuous nausea.
How did Mayo help and how long were you there?
I am having my second breath test from my Local GI Friday and have already done 4 rounds of Antibiotics.
I tried a Natural approach too but Oregano oil caused blood sugar drops which I already get from the rPid emptying. This all stRted last March with food or water poisoning in Mexico. Sorry this is so long I’m hopeful hearing Mayo helped you! Do you also mind me asking where you stayed and if you would recommend it? Thanks SO much!
