At a Loss – Severe Abdominal Pain and No Answers
It has been a very rough month. I started having severe pain in my upper abdomen a week before Christmas. 2 days before Christmas I had my appendix removed and then 3 weeks later my gallbladder removed (they believed this to be the cause of all of my pain) ever since I have been having severe stomach pains that ate worse then the pains I started with. I have lost almost 22 pounds in a month due to the inability to eat and I feel as though I am wasting away. I am feeling so hopeless and so depressed and I just don't know what to do anymore because doctor's seem to be at a loss while my pain just keeps growing. I have never felt this down before and I don't know what to do about it

Tell your doctor about how you are feeling emotionally. It's important to take care of both your body and your mind. Your doctor will be able to help with resources for your emotional well-being. Good luck and I wish you the best!
I don't have a doctor right now just the surgeon that did my surgery. I don't even get to meet with a new doctor until the 18th of February. Thank you for your kind words
@enska Do you have family members or friends you can lean on till you see a Dr? Even a good friend or minister to talk with I,ll be keeping you on my prayers May God be with you
@hgarm
I'm so sorry to hear that you are suffering so much with this stomach pain. I had my gall bladder removed about 20 years ago, and I continued to have stomach pain. I was told the same thing about giving it time. Six months later, I went to another doctor because I was in so much pain, and he said he could see the pain in my eyes. He ordered a vaginal ultrasound and they discovered a large lemon sized mass on my left ovary. They scheduled me for surgery and prepared me emotionally for ovarian cancer. Turned out that I didn't have cancer, but I did have my ovaries removed. Later the doctor discovered that my surgeon for the gall bladder surgery had left a surgery clip in my side. I occasionally have pains in that area but I'm sure it's because of the clip.
I recommend that you have your doctor look at your pancreas. You sound like you could have pancretitis, which is quite painful and dangerous if let go too long. I don't know where you live, but if possible, look for another doctor. You need to see a doctor as soon as possible as you are having acute pain. I'm not a medical professional, so I can only make recommendations for you to be seen as soon as possible. Please let us know how things turn out after you see a doctor. Best of luck for you @hgarm . I misdirected this message to @enska . Sorry for the error.
@hgarm I just read you next post. Try to find a family doctor.
@hgarm -I'm glad that you found Mayo Connect. I can see that you are having a very rough time, I'm sorry. There's nothing worse than unrelenting pain. I don't know if you've had any follow-up images taken to see what might be going on. I don't believe that you should be experiencing this amount of pain a month after surgery. The surgery itself could have caused a disruption of some sort a month later as Gail said.
It also sounds like you need either another doctor. Or maybe got to the emergency room.
Are you able to function at all during the day?
They checked my pancreas through blood work and said everything was in the normal range so everything is ok there as far as they are concerned. I had a vaginal ultrasound 6 months ago and everything was good butbthat could be a next step. The pain has gotten to the point where anytime I eat I end up screaming it's unbearable but no one can help me and all the Drs think its nothing
I have been to the ER 4 times in a month first time they removed my appendix and the 4th time they removed my gallbladder, other wise they just sent me home and said to follow up with a Dr which is what inhave been trying to do but can't due to appointments being scheduled out so far.
Not really most of the day I am balled up crying or trying not to cry. I can't even focus on school which is causing issues. I usually end up sitting in the shower and crying for an hour
Oh honey I'm so sorry. Since you are a patient of his and have these issues I don't know why they can't fit you in. o you teach or are you a student?
Yea the earliest he can see me is the 18th of February I tried another doctor butbtheybare scheduling appointment out in April which is even further away.
I am a student trying to finish my degree taking 6 classes but I am already falling behind. I haven't worked in over 2 weeks because of all the pain which is affecting my family financially
