Hello @kdo0827
I would like to add my good thoughts to Lisa's (@lisalucier) about your upcoming colonoscopy. I hope that you have good results. As a side note to Cymbalta, I've been taking a small dose (just 20 mg per day) for over a year now (for both pain and sleep problems) without any constipation side effects. That is pretty remarkable because constipation is common for me because of repeated surgeries of the upper digestive tract as well as Parkinson's which has the common side effect of constipation. The only drug that I ever took (and only for one month) that significantly affected constipation was Gabapentin. I only took 300 mg at bedtime for a month and then it took me over 8 weeks to get back to normal. However, the low dose of Cymbalta has not been a problem.

Have you ever tried a Magnesium supplement for constipation? While I'm not trying to sell anything, I've had good success with "Calm" a magnesium powder that you mix (first in warm water until it fizzes) and then add cold water or juice. If I take it at bedtime the constipation is solved. Also, Smooth Move Tea, is also very effective. Both Calm and Smooth Move Tea can be purchased at any health food store. Of course, always check with your doctor before trying anything new.

Wishing you well today and tomorrow. Will you post again?

Thank you. I’ll try to post tomorrow. One of my colon issues is due to taking Methadone. It affects the nerves in the colon so that the colon doesn’t get all the signals to empty. Once again we take a medication for one thing but it causes something else 😑
