I have a had at least six colonoscopy since 2018. The first one they were checking to see why I was constipated for 10+ years and then all of a sudden in 2017 I not only had severe diarrhea but I also gained 50lbs. They found a lot of polyps and decided that I needed to get another one in 6 months. However, I had it down maybe 3 months later because they were looking for Crohn’s Ilium; the diarrhea never went away. So long story short this year I had another colonoscopy, the end of June, and the found several sessile serrated polyps. They said they don’t want me to have another one until 3 years but now I’m having issues again with my bowels and I’m afraid if I wait that long it will just get worse.

@kaforester3, I can certainly understand your concern. You should talk about it with your GI specialist. Our bowels are key to our well-being. It sounds like you may have multiple contributors to finicky bowels causing constipation to diarrhea. This doesn't mean you've developed polyps again or that you have cancer. Colorectal cancer grows very slowly, which is likely why the 3 year space before the next colonoscopy was recommended.

When you had the colonoscopy in June did they discover Crohn's or any other GI issue besides the polyps? What issues are you have with your bowels at this time: constipation or diarrhea?
