@iwishiwasanon.

I just read your post here. I'm glad you reached out to Mayo Connect and want to welcome you. I'm not a medical professional, but I offer my support and experience to you.

Your feeling helpless and fearful is very familiar to me. In fact, just reading your posting gave me a rush of the old feelings I've had previously. I know how that feels and I wish I could wrap my arms around you and give you comfort right now. I know when I was going through my hard times I learned to hug myself tightly, and talk to the scared child in me. I told myself that everything will be Ok, and not to worry about things that haven't happened yet. I spoke soothingly and had gentle feelings for the scared me. Breathing slowly and deeply through your nose will help you feel more calm.

If you feel safe sharing more information about yourself, please answer the questions I have below:

- Please tell me more about your insurance ending at the new year. Is there no way you can be covered?

- How long ago was your diagnosis made?

- Why did you seek a diagnosis; what precipitated the doctor's visits?

- What's your age?

If you live in a reasonably sized community, you should be able to get a "sliding scale" counseling. I also recommend a psychiatrist who can determine whether you need medication.

Please consider talking to your doctor even though you may be losing your insurance. (Use your medical insurance and doctors right up to the end of your eligibility.) You're asking for help here, which is good. You also need to ask for help where you are. Call your doctor and tell them what you said here--ask for help Now.

I'm sure others on this thread will respond to you as well. I hope you can find safety for now. If you have friends or family you trust, please ask them for extra support.

Thank you so much for responding to me, you have no clue how much it means to me
-It can be, but it'll cost money, money me nor my family have, I get free healthcare until I'm 18 in the state I live in, that's why it's ending
-I was diagnosed at the end of 2015, so three years ago
-My anxiety was so extreme I was picking at my skin, mostly around my nails, most of the time to the point of bleeding and it was becoming noticeable, I was also suffering anxiety attacks weekly, hyperventilating, dissociating, ect. My mom had me seek treatment and I was then put in an outpatient hospital
-I'm 17, I'll be 18 in February, my insurance doesn't overlap into that month due to my birthday being at the beginning of the month

I'm sure this is important too, for the past few years I have nightmares almost nightly, I'm thinking about seeing the cost of EMDR therapy for my PTSD.

I live in a pretty rural area, it takes about 40-45 minutes to get to any big city from here.
I'm scared to talk to my doctor, I know I probably shouldn't be but I can't help it, I can't stand talking about my feelings face to face with anyone.
