Posted by geeta123 @geeta123, Dec 14, 2018

Hi, My brother who is 71 yrs old and a diabetic since last 40 yrs has non small cell lung cancer stage 4 since one year. Now his sugar level often comes down to 50 in spite of reducing insulin ( human mixard) to 15 as compared to the earlier dose of 35. Please advice.

Hi @geeta123, welcome to Connect. I moved your message to the Lung Cancer group https://connect.mayoclinic.org/group/lung-cancer/
I found this series of articles on the MacMillan Cancer website talking about Diabetes and Cancer Treatment: https://www.macmillan.org.uk/information-and-support/audience/cancer-and-other-conditions/cancer-treatment-and-diabetes

Is your brother currently receiving any treatment for the cancer or for pain management? Has he had a consult with a diabetes nurse educator to discuss managing sugar levels with cancer?
