I had C. Diff, was on Vancomycin for ten days, it came back and took Vancomycin again and it didn’t help. Then they put me on
Dificd (Fidaxomicin made by Johnson & Johnson). For ten days. With insurance it was $875. But it worked and I haven’t had a relapse.

How soon did it come back after vanco? I’m a walking ball of nerves at 13 days off.

I went through 4 bouts of Cdiff before taking Dificid. My insurance wouldn't approve paying for part of it until I had taken Vancomycin which didn't work for me. I even took the pulse and taper Vanco for 6 weeks and a couple weeks after ending that, I had my 4th bout of Cdiff. The Dificid was worth every penny. It was $5,000 for 20 pills (10 days) and my ins. paid for a little over $4,000. That was in 2018.
