to cvillegal- If you read the package insert for Forteo, I think you will find that the FDA recommendation is for Forteo to be limited to 2 years total for lifetime. It is due to a cancer risk. Good luck

The black box warning has been lifted for Forteo and it can be taken longer than 2 years. The same thing may happen for Tymlos but it is newer so hasn't happened yet. Evenity is also an option for growing bone.

Eli Lilly has taken the black box warning off of Forteo. The reason is that the control group had higher rates of osteosarcoma than the group using Forteo. Source: I called Eli Lilly customer support. Sprague Dawley rats dosed at high levels of teriparatide do not represent the effects on humans.
