Has anyone experienced internal vibrations?
I started having the only way I can explain it is internal vibrations. I've had them for 3 months now, I went to t hihe ER and they told me it was anxiety. A doctor diagnosed me at a clinic as having Lyme disease I've started a 21-day prescription of Doxycycline I'm on day 7. I went to a psychiatrist a week ago to get something because of my nerves are just over the brink. He prescribed me Gabapentin and Valium I've only been on them a few days.
Has anyone experienced these internal vibrations?I have them almost 24/7 chest neck stomach from the hips down. I have more lab tests that should be in today, but the doctor's office said that they would not call unless there was some abnormality in the lab work.

My daughter suffered with narcolepsy for years before being diagnosed. Several years she would she say she felt all shaky inside. As she got a little older she explained it as vibrating. She has several health problems but when she would mention this to Drs. they would just roll their eyes at her. After being diagnosed with narcolepsy We kind of just chalked it up to a weird thing her body does because of being so completely exhausted. Hope you can figure out why your experiencing it.
Have you been checked for Narcolepsy?
Thanks. Definitely not narcolepsy in my case, but it fits the narrative of an extreme stress event on the body being at the root of kicking-off BFS for someone.
While I’m here, I’ll post a little update. In the past month or so, I have continued to improve overall. Definitely periods of regression where symptoms like the Globus, tinnitus, thigh pain and fatigue, and first and foremost the calf vibrating and fasciculations happen. But, as a whole, it’s improved. I’ve been doing a lot of golf lately
I do not have the leg strength back to walk 18, but still, taking a cart results in 3+ miles of walking, plus the exercise of all the swings. I’ve done well with that and only had my thighs cause me to give up once when the pain made a good swing impossible. Other than that, my legs are just more tired than they should be afterwards and the next day. I chalk it up to fatigue and damage caused by the BFS tremors and vibrations. Hoping over time that my can build back that strength, but I have a feeling it will not get back to 100% while I still have symptoms. Also related, running is not easy still, at the point. Even a short jog is painful to the legs.
Hope everyone is well and finding some way to cope and improve.
i was readings all the postings in this page, i like to tell my symptoms that i am experiencing in the last 3 or 4 months, it started with my left leg, pins and needles, burning, itchy not anymore, also my left knee is swollen had x-ray done nothing wrong but i am being referred to a specialist on Sunday, all these symptoms have travelled to the right leg, now i also get when i wake up first thing in the morning i start sweating cold and my feet are so cold , i am waiting for an appointment with the neurologist which it's taking forever, i was just wondering if anyone else has/had experienced any of these symptoms as mine, ty so much and hoping for a reply
@fde11 Hi there. I'm sorry you are experiencing these symptoms and am very happy you're lining up a neurology appointment. Is that the specialist you mean?
I have small-fiber polyneuropathy and have experienced many symptoms, some of what you've described. My neuropathy was caused by a B12 deficiency. I have since regulated my B12 but have lasting effects of the permanent nerve damage. Over the course of these past several years there have been symptoms that have come and gone, some that are by the day, week, or month. I have experienced irregulation of body temperature. I've experienced vibrations, like spoke of in earlier posts. I have experienced joint pain, random sharp stabbing pain. Things that made me go to an orthopedic doctor but nothing was ever wrong, like that of your knee. I also experience pins and needles, burning, muscle weakness and twitching. My feet freeze and feel frost bit, a burning cold.
To me your problems definitely sounds neurological but, I am no Dr. My advice to you is to be your best advocate and persist in getting in to a neurologist as soon as possible. There typically would be a plethora of blood work first. Then there are tests such as EMG/Nerve Conduction Study, skin pinch biopsy, lumbar puncture, genetic testing. Also, keep researching so you are knowledgable about your body.
I wish you luck going forward and hope this helps.
Rachel
Has anyone an update to their story? I've started getting internal vibrations about month ago throughout my whole body. 60 years old- on no meds. I've had a lot of stress but that's been months ago. no symptom of Parkinson's or MS. I feel healthy but this has got me worried. Also just started getting a light dull pain on right side but not sure if its a pulled muscle or something related to the vibrations....If anyone could help please?
Hello @nimbus and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect! I'm sorry to hear that you have been bothered by these internal vibrations. While we wait for others in this group to respond to you, I was wondering what other information you can provide. For example, since this problem started a month ago, have there been any other problems such as digestive issues, new exercise programs, etc.? Is there any time of day that these vibrations are worse than others?
You seem pretty certain that this is not related to a neurological problem like PD or MS. Have you seen a neurologist?
Thank you Teresa! Had went through some stressful events 2 months prior. Think I'm going through my change of life. Have heart disease in my family, I'm over weight, however I exercise daily and on no meds at this time, blood pressure runs pretty good and sometimes goes a little high like 145/86 but if I watch what i eat it will run about 127/83 After this started I had blood work done( we have an inherited 1 marker Hemochromatosis gene in our family) my blood tests show no signs of Diabetes or Vitamin deficiencies. However my red blood cell count (High RBE 5.65) (High Hematocrit 47.8) (High Hemoglobin 16) (and Iron (187) (UIBC low 125), however this runs consistent to relatives with the gene. So I started Oregano Oil and Aspirin to thin out my blood. The vibrations are still here. No digestive issues except after getting a Endoscopy I have Acid problems (that I don't feel) so I've modified my diet and eating schedule..... no longer any issues that I know of. No problems with colonoscopy. No breast problems. No bad pap test. At first I felt these at night all through my whole body like my dog was shaking and making the bed move or a motor running. Then I feel them move to my legs ( I've tried to feel if I can tell by touch but that's very deceiving to decide. I've not seen a neurologist because I have to pay everything out of pocket and all they will do is run a bunch of tests and tell me it's stress, (In which perhaps it may be) but seems kinda weird if it were. I've no shaking, jerky motion, skin color changes, or any other associated symptoms of MS or PD. Also about 6 yrs ago had ringing in my ear so had a Brain scan with dye and there was no tumor at that time. Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to suggest getting me moving in the right direction!
Hello @silverkat and welcome to Mayo Connect. I see that this is your first post and I wanted to move your question from a private message, here to this discussion about internal tremors.
"I have been experiencing body vibrations for about two weeks now. They occur mostly upper body and arms. I have timed them at one second on, two seconds off. As I have a heart problem, a leaky valve, and an aortic aneurysm I wondered if the vibrations were a cause stemming from those conditions or problematic to them. I am most aware of the vibrations while attempting to sleep, During the day I don't really sense them, tho they are there. Do you recommend I see a GP physician or specialist of some kind?"

I would like to invite @nimbus to this discussion who has posted about a similar problem.
If you are comfortable doing so, @silverkat, could you explain a bit more about the vibrations? What exactly do they feel like? Some members describe them as similar to a vibrating phone. Is this the way you would describe them? Have you begun any new medications?
Interesting about the “on then off” action of them. Can’t honestly say I’ve heard about that or experienced that. When my buzzing is there, it’s there until it phases out eventually. What is “common” is that they flare up more when falling asleep. You probably notice them lessen as you awaken and when you get moving and brain fully alert they minimize more?
Not hijacking your post, but I’ve had somewhat of a flare up of my calves buzzing at night again lately. It creates muscle heat and I notice leg clammyness and I have to toss the covers off.
