@jimhd We had a short-lived rainbow right after our last heavy thunderstorm about 5:30pm. Our big Milepost 97 fire last year was caused by squatters on BLM land.
@funcountess The Thomas Fire was in Dec 2017. I was a quarter mile away. Many of my friends and co-workers lost their houses and everything they owned. Most of them are rebuilding, including my Tai Chi Chuan teacher, who is now 82.

Hi ginger,
I know the Thomas fire hit the very end of 2017. I was using it as a reference to all the fires we’ve had in the past couple of years.
Most of my neighbors are still fighting with their insurance companies for their right to rebuild, as codes have been upgraded. Sometimes I feel like I will be 100 before things are done. I’m in my late 70s.. most days I have the energy of someone half my age, other days I turn a blind eye to how everything is, as energy level drags.
I’m sure your 82 year old teacher, suffered loses that were never paid by her insurance company.
If you do not have photos or receipts of possessions, you were out of luck. They need proof of everything. I’m at this stage right now, if anybody has suggestions how to handle
Situations like that i am open to good suggestions.
