Gratitude Discussion Group
Hi everyone! Just before Thanksgiving @michellegraffradford posted a blog called Gratitude Changes Everything. She suggested three techniques to help incorporate gratitude into our daily lives:
- Start the Day with Gratitude (before getting up think of three people you are grateful for)
- Maintain a Gratitude Journal to record times when you are grateful
- Count Blessings – not sheep! (Review the day and remember moments of gratitude)
Her blogpost was so inspiring that a lot of us decided we wanted to form a Gratitude Group to keep the attitude of gratitude going. The blogpost area is not an ideal space for a big discussion group so I am moving the discussion over here to the “Just Want to Talk” Group. Let’s use this space to share and discuss our Gratitude Journey. I’m going to suggest that we each try to take a minute from the day and post here what has made us feel thankful today. It can be as small as a stranger’s smile on the bus or as large as fulfilling a major life dream – or anywhere in between. We can also discuss how we are doing with the three techniques. Sometimes it is easier to form new habits with support from others.
Michelle's full blogpost is at the link below. You may want to review it or print it out to help get started!

I look forward to hearing from others in the Gratitude Group and to having others join us here! Thanks to those who already shared great stories. If you haven't yet, what gratitude will you share today?!

@hopeful33250 I will read as much as I can the next few days, but probably not do many replies. The symptoms were lined in favor of a severe sinus infection. One antibiotic shot in the butt [ouch!] plus an Rx for 10 day run of the same will hopefully set me to rights quickly. You all be happy, and pain-free because right now, I'm not, so you gotta pull the yoke for me.

@parus now that I've progressed to putting up my own profile picture I am noticing pictures . I must confess I really like the duck you posted! I don't see him or her as negative. I think it looks quizzical kinda. Just goes to show that it's all in the eye of the beholder. Like everything is. Quack.
@catmom777 I doubt there are many parents alive who do not have some guilt about things they did and afterward regretted. Our kids are generally wonderfully resilient and forgive. If your ex-BF did something, then don't blame yourself. You did not do it.
As others have said, it is time for you to forgive yourself. You have made amends to your daughter as well as you could and she has accepted that if she lets you into your grandchildrens' lives. It is history, yep regrettable history, but it's done, your daughter has gotten on with her life, you need to also.
Hugs, JK
@gingerw I hope you feel better and perk up quickly. Sinus infections can be so darned uncomfortable.
A migraine too? OUCH! I am so thankful that my miserable migraines ended with menopause.

@quiteachiver76 : I FOUND THIS MESSAGE INTERESTING THERE ARE TIMES WHEN YOU THINK 🤔 YOU ARE THE ONLY ☝️ ONE WHO HAS THIS PROBLEM FROM ONE DOCTOR 👩⚕️ TO ANOTHER AND GETTING NO WHERE. IT HAS LEAD ME TO DOING A LOT OF RESEARCH AND FIND THERE ARE OTHERS WITH THE SAME HEALTH PROBLEMS “ FRUSTRATION “ PLUS
Good morning everyone. Right now it's sunny and warmish in southern NE! Today I am grateful for the incredible need I have for finding things, sleuthing and being just plain nosy! I'm meeting a friend for early appetizers and a drink Monday night. I wanted to wear a certain top that I had purchased about a month ago. I had never worn it. It's a blue stripped soft long lantern sleeve jersey top. So I pulled all of my clothes out and they are on my bed right now. Yes, I have way too many clothes. I didn't see anything that looked like what I had remembered. I kept thinking that it was a light blue blouse. I went back into the file I have for purchases and found the order. Then I thought, I bet I put it with my long sleeve t shirts. Low and behold it's not a blouse and it's dark blue stripped! TaaaDaaa! My research and sleuthing paid off! I'm so just happy and relieved that I found this thing, but maybe it will be too lite to wear...
Yes, I agree. Life sure does seem short now with my recent double diagnosis also. I figure I might have 10-15 years left and I don't want to spend them living in shame, fear, and regret.
Today I am grateful that I'm feeling better after a few days of dealing with either a stomach bug or the aftermath of my ordeal with taking a medication that caused stomach bleeding. Whichever it is - today I'm feeling better, it's sunny, and I'm going to enjoy the spring day. I'm also going to read back over all the gratitudes I missed here and I know that will make me feel even better. Hope you all have a great day!
@quiteachiver76 I like your profile picture cute .Yes I have gone to different Dr,s cause they don't listen to you so till I find one that cares I will go to different ones .I'm hoping my new rheumatologist I will see will be the last one I'll see. Since my first rd to today they haven't been treating me with that dx. At night my ankles pain me so bad it's hard to get to sleep I wish you well ,have a good day
Mentor- Glad that ordeal is over for you!
