Gratitude Discussion Group
Hi everyone! Just before Thanksgiving @michellegraffradford posted a blog called Gratitude Changes Everything. She suggested three techniques to help incorporate gratitude into our daily lives:
- Start the Day with Gratitude (before getting up think of three people you are grateful for)
- Maintain a Gratitude Journal to record times when you are grateful
- Count Blessings – not sheep! (Review the day and remember moments of gratitude)
Her blogpost was so inspiring that a lot of us decided we wanted to form a Gratitude Group to keep the attitude of gratitude going. The blogpost area is not an ideal space for a big discussion group so I am moving the discussion over here to the “Just Want to Talk” Group. Let’s use this space to share and discuss our Gratitude Journey. I’m going to suggest that we each try to take a minute from the day and post here what has made us feel thankful today. It can be as small as a stranger’s smile on the bus or as large as fulfilling a major life dream – or anywhere in between. We can also discuss how we are doing with the three techniques. Sometimes it is easier to form new habits with support from others.
Michelle's full blogpost is at the link below. You may want to review it or print it out to help get started!

I look forward to hearing from others in the Gratitude Group and to having others join us here! Thanks to those who already shared great stories. If you haven't yet, what gratitude will you share today?!

Refreshing to know there are some gaining your admiration.
@Paris @jodeej I'm blessed too have a warm apt.when I think of the homeless in the cold breaks my heart I remember Pittsburgh use to open schools and where ever they could shelter them they had but this brutle cold is something else
I'm so grateful for my health be it as it is but am not out in this bruttle winter
Thank you for those positive efforts, @jakedduck1. It sounds as if you really made a difference in their lives. We just need more people to take this kind of an interest in our homeless population.
@parus
I have respect and admiration for all people. I wasn’t sure if you were insinuating otherwise or not. I know you have had problems with what I’ve posted in the past. However I feel my responsibility is to put forth ideas and suggestions that I believe may be helpful to some writing in. Admittedly, due to the severity of my Seizure Disorder my education is poor at best and my eloquention is lacking and it may make me come across to people as curt or unsympathetic. I say things people don’t always want to hear but that doesn’t make me wrong. If I say something I try to base it on scientifically proven facts. If I do ever offend anyone I hope they will message me about it.
Wishing you health and happiness,
Jake
@Paris we did have the wolf,a blood moon maybe that was a prediction of the brittle winter?I'm sorry to hear it the medical blunder I swear ,you have to double check everything.Yesterday a referral was mailed to me I called to make an appointment they never received it Long story short the referral agency didn't have there dad number !

@jakedduck1 you,he never lived till it's been -25 out ,bundle up in a down coat in winter no mountain man huh
@lioness
No, definitely not a mountain man. California weather whimp. People who can brave those conditions are very courageous indeed. I’m shocked you made it out here.
We had a friend from northern Sweden. We would gripe about how cold it was. She straightened us out telling about the weather there. She said “You don’t know what cold is until you turn blue.”
Jake the weather whimp.
@jakedduck1 Love it Leonard you are funny keep your sense of humor You don't offend me we,re just jokester we need more of this in our world today
