Gratitude Discussion Group
Hi everyone! Just before Thanksgiving @michellegraffradford posted a blog called Gratitude Changes Everything. She suggested three techniques to help incorporate gratitude into our daily lives:
- Start the Day with Gratitude (before getting up think of three people you are grateful for)
- Maintain a Gratitude Journal to record times when you are grateful
- Count Blessings – not sheep! (Review the day and remember moments of gratitude)
Her blogpost was so inspiring that a lot of us decided we wanted to form a Gratitude Group to keep the attitude of gratitude going. The blogpost area is not an ideal space for a big discussion group so I am moving the discussion over here to the “Just Want to Talk” Group. Let’s use this space to share and discuss our Gratitude Journey. I’m going to suggest that we each try to take a minute from the day and post here what has made us feel thankful today. It can be as small as a stranger’s smile on the bus or as large as fulfilling a major life dream – or anywhere in between. We can also discuss how we are doing with the three techniques. Sometimes it is easier to form new habits with support from others.
Michelle's full blogpost is at the link below. You may want to review it or print it out to help get started!

I look forward to hearing from others in the Gratitude Group and to having others join us here! Thanks to those who already shared great stories. If you haven't yet, what gratitude will you share today?!

Today I am grateful to be sitting at the dining room table, looking out the window towards Mt. Baldy. It has rained off and on most of the day, sometimes a drizzle, and sometimes a lot harder. There is crystal blue sky with clouds hanging over the mountains. As the sunset progresses the clouds have turned from a glaring white to yellowish and will soon be turning pink then almost red in the long rays of the sunset. Things have been washed clean with the rain today. Grateful that although I was caught up in a very heavy rainstorm late this morning, everybody on the freeway slowed down and there were no accidents. It's warm in the house and the cat is seeking my lap.

Hi @jodeej
I just googled Zion National Park and it is beautiful! They will have some great wedding pictures. Do they live near there?
@hopeful33250 they live in the Twin Cities, but my son picked this location. His fiance'was so excited he made a decision regarding the wedding that she went with it. Lol
@jodeej
I thought it was you gals who were all enthralled with weddings, it’s a major decision if the guy even shows up.

@hopeful33250 No kidding. If you have a Whole Foods or Fresh Market near to you DO NOT BUY their honey roasted peanut butter that you grind in their grinders. It is totally addictive and after eating it no other peanut butter will do. I use Wasa Crisp and light crackers -- 3 of them only have 70 calories.

@Contantandwell Thats not bad if you can stick to 3
@jodeej Our son is getting married on August 24, in CO. When we go to visit him and his fiancee in February, her parents will be there for a couple of days too. He and his fiancee thought we should meet before the wedding. They live in SC.
I would like to get this excess pounds off before then too.

@jodeej My brother spent a year in Utah getting a PhD and he toured all over. I remember the pictures from Zion, and it really was beautiful. That should be a great location for a wedding.
JK
@jakedduck1 that's so true! Lol They wanted a destination type wedding and had been looking at the West coast. Our son mentioned he preferred a dessert type location and this what he picked. It was a surprise to all of us!
