Thyroid and Synthroid

Been on 137mcg Levothyroxine @ 25 years. Only real problem was when PCP decided to suddenly drop dosage two increments, to 112mcg. Fingers were cold, depression escalated. Anxiety, nervousness escalated so that I lost my job!
Had it put back to 137mcg, with the suggestion that there be a step-up of 125mcg for a month, which was ignored. I seem OK now, after month back on 137mcg.

wife on it from age 22. she is 75 now. no problems. has lots of issues if they change it to something else or stop it.

Thank you one and all for your feedback! I am on 125 mcg, had a TSH done today, and I’m talking to my doctor about possibly adjusting dosage. I’ll keep you posted! Boy am I grateful for this forum! It’s so comforting and educational to “talk” to one another!

@annedodrill44 I am so glad you shared your thyroid/Synthroid with all of us. I know I am going to have some questions for my endo at next visit. Maybe I need a change or adjustment. I've been taking it so long; maybe I need him to check.

Hello. I have been on thyroid meds for 10 plus years. Have not experienced any nervousness or problems.

Are you in the name brand ,I've been on it going in 8 years now

I had the same issue until they wrote me for name brand witch is a huge difference been on now for 8 years ,they have to adjust ,just don't let them take u off ever,I also had problems with off brand my hair falling out in clumps not so much now I'm on 88 mg got up from 75 mg 3 months ago

Please make sure u have it check reg ur not ever suppose to get off this meds as it control ur whole body ,I'm on it 8 years now stable and normal range as my daughter they took my daughter off of it dew to normal limits and withing a month in the hospital her thyroid level dropped and sad to say lost her baby 5 months pregnant as her body didn't function properly, u thyroid control ur whole body.

I should mention that I've been required aby different insurances to have my thyroid checked every 3, 6, or 12 months. Most often is appropriate while dose is being adjusted. Be sure they do all the tests - T3, T4, and TSH, I think they're called.
Even after I specified this it was not done until I double-checked. It costs more so verify the results for yourself!
