Have you considered a peripheral nerve stimulator? These devices work well for localized pain and they are not implanted in the spinal column. The batteries are external and are worn on the skin. Ask your doctor about Stimwave PNS and StimRouter PNS or look them up on the internet.
@sallymagint Hi. You mentioned u have nerve pain in ur hands & arm's especially the right hand. Have you seen a rheumatologist for a Neurologist to make sure this is not some other type of issue? In my case I have 5 herniated disc's in my neck/cervical spine C3 thru C6. & then again in my Thoracic area 3more discs are herniated.
Especially when I'm feeling exhausted or should I say I feel like I'm going to collapse. & I have Osteoporosis/severe arthritis & carpal tunnel in both hands/wrists & my fingers. So I wear stabilizers/hand & wrist braces to help keep my wrists straight especially at night wen I wake up with shooting pins & needles dwn my forearms & hands. I do not tolerate any type of meds like Pregablin/Lyrica or Gabapentin/Neurontin. But I use Voltaren gel & LIDOCAINE roll On or creme with or without Menthol. Salonpas Brand has no scent. So I thought maybe this info could be something to consider checking for. Best Wishes.
I too have it in both hands and entire right arm, underarm across breast and neck..
I opt to try the HF10...
After almost 2 hr surgery, after waking was told they could not place it....
Then ended up back 6 hrs later in emergency surgery due to my spinal fluid bleeding...
I can not force myself to attempt again..
This disease has changed me...I DO NOT LIKE WHO I SEE IN THE MIRROR...
I DON'T REMEMBER HOW IT FEELS TO MOT HURT...
I’ve had a Medtronic SCS since 2011 and it’s been a god send for my leg pain following two back surgeries. You would be first given a trial to see if the device is effective for your pain before a permanent device would be implanted. If it doesn’t help your pain then you’ll know not to proceed with a permanent implant.
