@brigby...I was able to stop the acid reflux from causing more damage by treating GERD very seriously. It damaged my voicebox and lungs. I follow a strict diet with no foods lower than pH5.But the most effective adaptation I follow is to sleep upright in a recliner. No more lying down.I also have acupuncture treatments which have almost eliminated the sharp pains.

@egayle187 hi there, thank you for the tips. Just wish we knew if the pains & the burning/need to swallow frequently are a warning sign lungs are being damaged further?
