I am going in for my shot demonstration tomorrow - I may do my first injection at her office. I know all of these meds have possible side effects and I postponed doing anything as long as I felt safe to postpone. The one good thing about the daily shot is that it doesn't build up and stay in your body so, at least according to my doctor, if you get side effects that you cannot tolerate once you stop they are gone. At least I haven't heard of any effect that continues once you quit the shots. So I figured I would try it, and if I cannot tolerate it I will try something else. I already have some gerd issues so oral bisphosphonates are out for me.

Hi kdbones. I was willing to try Forteo and Tymlos given their short duration in the body. As an allergic person, I had to have the option of a quick exit, and a drug with a very short half life. As it turned out, I was allergic to Forteo, but was able to drop it quickly with no lingering issues. I am doing great with Tymlos. My allergist suggests it could be an issue with preservatives for me. Forteo and Tymlos use different preservatives. Good luck kdbones!
