I’ve just been diagnosed with osteoporosis. Age 59. Male. Unfortunately took significant prednisone which led to a bone density test (results -3.2 hip, wrist. -2.9 spine.). Dr strongly recommended immediate bone regeneration medication. Due to my job (extensive travel) Tymlos was suggested. Not worried about giving daily shots but highly concerned about side effects that will effect quality of live and dealing with them while overseas. In particular, dizziness and headaches. Getting 2nd opinion next week (suspect it will be similar). Grateful for input on severity of side effects.

I understand your concerns about side effects of Tymlos or Forteo..But studies have shown that not treating your osteoporosis is much worse..The benefits outweigh the risks..For instance the biggest problem I had was the one side effect of osteiocarcinoma, in short, bone cancer..I believe that only one human got that, but she had cancer & radiation at a time in her life..they pretty much linked it to that..Another thing, is don't smoke..your ruining your chances of building bone at all! I have been injecting Tymlos for 2 months now, the side effects are mild..the only one I experienced is a headache for the first 3 or 4 days (not a migraine) and a slightly rapid heartbeat...you just feel a little hyper but it didn't slow me down...The injections are a piece of cake..takes me 5 minutes and done. My osteoporosis is in my lower lumbar....a second opinion is good, but probably will be the same recommendation...mine is not genetic, it's probably due to dieting etc during my 30's 40's, trying to have that perfect body...I wish you luck with everything!
