Have you seen a pelvic floor specialist? I had pudendal nerve pain after a surgery on my pelvis and for months sitting, laying, and standing were extremely painful. I saw a massage/ active release technique specialist every week who worked on all of the tight muscles outside my body. I am now seeing a pelvic floor specialist who is working on the internal pressure/trigger points that need to be released . I suggest both of these as they are helping me. God Bless!
I think I've had PN for 9 months now and at first laying down took the pain away, but now laying on my back I feel discomfort in my sacral area as well as buttocks. Has anyone wondered if the piriformis muscle might be involved in this? There is a surgeon, Dr. Tollestrup, who removes the piriformis muscle. I wonder if that would relieve pudendal neuralgia symptoms?
Hi skiak22, yes I am 9 months into this PN pain and now I must take a pain med when laying down to sleep. What state do you live in? I'm in WI.
When I have what I’m calling a flare up I can’t lay down either, I have found that a good ice pack . I have one that will last for hours,
My wife's pain is worsened when sitting down. The pain is there while standing but this does not aggravate the nerves like sitting does. Sleeping is the best part of the day as the pain seems to subside during the night. Upon wakening the pain level is lower but gradually goes higher as she becomes more active.
