Hi sandyjr. I'm 69, booked in for DIEP (left and right) early this May 2021. I had tubal ligation (clips) at the age of 42. I'd like to know any answers to your question of "extra precaution" for surgery. I would not have thought of asking that question, ever! Thanks in advance.

I just saw this. There seem to be no precautions that I needed for the surgery. I had it in July 2020 and everything was very smooth and was exactly as my doctors told me it would be. I have no regrets. Also I had no pain. It did kind of take the wind out of my sails but I’m used to being pretty busy and being tired and sitting around healing crimped my lifestyle… LOL. I had the diep/reconstruction in one big long surgery. I would assume the drugs they gave me and the stress of the surgery made me a bit weak. I immediately got up and moved around, walked a little, went outside got fresh air...All things considered it was pretty easy and painless.
