Central sleep apnea. Cause?

@tiss

I am having intermittent bouts of hypoxia and have had so many tests I can't count. One test was a sleep study which showed moderate sleep apnea. Cpap was prescribed. I feel horrible on this machine. More chronic fatigue than before. My central apneas have tripled on the cpap. Waiting to hear from the dr. They have bumped up the pressure already which increased the CSA even more. Have no idea why.

Hi, @tiss - sounds like it's been rough since starting on the CPAP with more central apneas and chronic fatigue.

I think that @johnbishop @dawn_giacabazi @johnhans @peetiepie @mstara @kristiesmith221 @bailey32 @warpedtrekker may have some input for you and provide some support, as you've been through a lot with all the tests and then difficulties with using your CPAP.

Do you have a diagnosis of chronic fatigue syndrome, @tiss, or are you referring to other ongoing tiredness?

Hi @tiss, I have obstructive sleep apnea like @johnhans. I think he is correct in the central sleep apnea is treated different. I found this article on the American Sleep Association's website that gives a good explanation of the treatments for the different sleep disorders.

There is also a newer PAP type device being used for central sleep apnea that was mentioned in the article above.
