Abdominal pain, loss of appetite, weight loss, repeated infections
38 year old with chronic stomach infections and nothing showing up on scans. Ugh. Weight loss, nauseous, abdominal pain and cramping, bowel changes, unexplained bruising, and repeated infections in the colon, intestine, and kidneys, unexplained bruising, and issues with getting my blood to stop after lab work. Please help if you have any insight. Most scans and test are turning up so I will be heading to Mayo in September but very scared I won't make till then with symptoms increasing. I don't know if this makes sense to anybody but at this point, I'm wondering if it a blood disorder, autoimmune with constant infections, or something rare that somebody on this site can relate to you. I also have had an increase in UTIs, and kidney infections,

I agree whole heartedly. Good luck!
@lioness Thank you so much for the advice I have not been to a doctor that specializes in blood just GI, Urology, and obgyn because I have stage 3/4 Endometriosis in my late 20s and now have had a hysterectomy and said it could come back or adhesions but they won't due exploratory surgery. I do on to Mayo but not till September.
Hello @claudiabrende, I hear the concern in your post and I think that is understandable considering the symptoms you are facing. you mentioned that you are heading to Mayo in September, which is great, but I also understand that can be a long time wait. Mayo Clinic will be a great place to start as they have many experts in many fields who collaborate to help patients find answers or get on the path to finding answers. You may notice that I moved your discussion to the Just Want to Talk group where other members have discussed things such as mysterious illnesses before.
If you don't mind sharing, what have your local providers said about your increasing symptoms while you are waiting to go to Mayo Clinic? Did they have a suggestion as to what you should do if and when your symptoms worsen? How are you managing your symptoms currently?
@claudiabrende
Please keep me updated about how things are with you. Your history, plus that of your family explain why you are concerned about your symptoms. If possible, you need to find a way to relax as you are taking the right steps to find a reliable diagnosis. Your stress about the unknown isn't good for your health.
Look for a class in Meditation or Mindfulness to learn how to focus your mind and let go of your fears. I have found Meditation is extremely helpful for my fears. Over the years it has become my automatic response to fears of the unknown. You have been doing everything in your power to research your symptoms and get the help of doctors. Now, let it go and find some peace as you await further diagnosis. That's the best way to care for yourself right now.
Also, September is a few weeks away. When in September do you go to Mayo Clinic, and to which one are you going? I'm holding you in peace and love.

@gailb Thank you for your kind words. I do a ton of yoga, meditation, and acupuncture but is getting a bit costly. I also found out they can get me in on August 28th, wow, I'm so happy. The symptoms I am considered about is the rectal bleeding, repeated infections in my kidneys, intestines, and colon within a 4 month period, severe nausea that keeps me from eating which has caused weight loss, if I do it, it has to be a few bits because I tend to get nauseous after I try and eat, vaginal blood years after my hysterectomy, the pain sucks its gnawing, cramping sharp, sometimes sharp but is in the upper abdomen to pubic bone, pelvic pressure has started and rectal pressure. I thank you tremendously for what you and helping me I didn't know if anybody would respond and I am very grateful to you and others have. @travelgirl @hopeful33250 @lioness
@claudiabrende, I am new to this story of your troubles with pain in your abdomen. I want you to know that I am sending all the good vibes, thoughts, and prayers that I possibly can, your way. Every one of us is different, and no one feels exactly the way we do. But I have several issues that used to cause me severe, unrelenting pain.Many, many tests were done, and after many tears and anxious moments, several diagnoses were made. Medication is available to me now that takes care of my worst symptoms. Amazingly, a change of diet and certain supplements also helped greatly. I am religious about telling my doctor every single thing that I put in my mouth. I share my story with you to give you hope that you will have a good outcome as well. I think, for me, the hardest part was not knowing what was wrong with me. Meditation and just slowing down my pace were also helpful in finding peace. Let us know how you are doing. We want to listen and share our journeys with you. We are better together.
@claudiabrende I am so glad to hear that your appointment has been moved up to 8/28. That is good news! I wish you a great appointment with lots of information to help you.

@JustinMcClanahan Thank you for responding and I do have some good news I talked to Mayo today and they are getting me in on August 28th. Beyond grateful. They have shuffled me to a specialist to another which is frustrating because some have not really heard me and I feel I'm treated like a nuisance. I have gone to GI which did colonoscopy results were inflammation and mucus in the stomach, bacterial infection in the large intestine, a week later I contracted Giardia, a month after that a severe kidney infection that caused me to wipe blood, I started to have my appetite back and was thinking "great we figured it out" then in the last 3 months I can bearly eat without getting sick, the nausea is so severe Zofran and Phenergan is not helping, cramping gnawing pain in the upper abdomen to pubic bone, in the last 2 months I have pelvic/rectal pressure, increase in bowels and diarrhea I went to see my GI and 3 weeks ago I was diagnosed with C.Diff both A and B toxins. Went to urologist said he didn't think my IC was acting up and maybe my endometriosis came back or can be adhesions but no surgeon will not operate. I've been told if I get dizzy to go to ER which has happened but I look like a frequent flyer, and to treat it with acid reflux meds, fiber, protein shakes, probiotics, B12, and a pain medication called Nuysanta but only can take it once a day.

I'm so happy to hear that you've been able to get your appointment sooner at Mayo. Since I see that you live in North Dakota, I'm assuming you will be going to the Rochester clinic. I have been to Mayo for medical treatment 3 times, always in Rochester. I trust them completely. I'm also glad you already practice meditation at least with yoga. I too practiced yoga for 8 years. After back surgery, I'm now trying to get scheduled for new yoga classes this fall where we are now living.
Hang in there, it won't be so long now.
