Welcome to Connect, @christinej
I'm tagging a few other members who have mentioned taking anastrozole for some time such as @wandering @susanao1 @itskeenerific @judymroz @cindylb @chamisaand @berit. I'm not sure if all have finished AI treatment.

Christine, what symptoms are you experiencing?

I too just finished taking Anastrazole after years and having incredible fatigue. Is it related to stopping?

Welcome to the group @maryts. I see that you wished to make a post here. To post a message, click REPLY (not the Report flag).

You wished to share that you
"stopped taking anastrozole in Sept. 2019 after 5 years of taking it and have extreme fatigue, difficulty sleeping, dizziness, lack of energy, brain fog, hot flashed at night and that you're unable to sleep."

You're not alone. Have you spoken to your oncologist about the inability to sleep and the symptoms?

I do not have cancer but had genetic testing due to mother, sister, aunts and cousin with breast cancer. The RAD50 showed a mutation of unknown significance for breast cancer and melanoma. I had melanoma and because of family history of breast was referred to an oncologist. He wanted to put me on Anastrozole. I saw the side effects and am pretty sure after looking at these replies I don't think I want to go there! I am a healthy 67 and only meds I take is thyroid. Think I'll just be asking for trouble and since I now qualify for 2 mammograms a year and skin screening will try to stay on top of it! Would like to hear about side effects.

Hi Colleen - is this thread still active?

Hello, I have been on anastrozole for ten years. If you work out daily and change your diet, it. It would help with the side effects; we all have gone through the storm, put your faith. In the Lord, live daily according to his will and be blessed. Live every moment as a blessed day. I am alive with a smile, so don't let fear get in our way. Just be happy and keep moving. I welcome myself to the family, Delores.
