Let's just be free to rant: No known cause for my pain
Hi. I'm 20 years old and haven't figured out the cause of my pain yet. This is the first place I've found with people I can talk to who just get it. Everyday I wake up and I'm at the very least achy all over. Usually my joints are stiff and something they feel better later in the day and sometimes they get worse especially if I'm in the sun at all. My ankles swell most days... and yesterday I started getting burning in the tip of my thumb and numbness in others. Last night the pain got so bad in my right hand that I couldn't even grasp a spoon and I had to cook dinner with my left. I'm 20!! I run a farm and this just hit me suddenly one day. I feel so useless sometimes. I know it's not my fault but 3 months ago I was able to do everything (I hurt but not this bad) I was strong and now just a bit of work leaves me completely in pain, brain fog and dead tired. What is that???

@bunnysammy Thank you for the update. Will be awaiting the results. Will the tests determine what type of arthritis???
I think so. I don't know much about the tests. I know that we think it's autoimmune related and the only two autoimmune disorders I'm aware of that come with arthritis are rhumeatoid arthritis and I think arthritis is common with lupus. But that's just all I know. She mentioned doing like imagining of my back if the blood tests don't conclude anything certain cause she's concerned about arthritis in my back.
Hey guys, another update here. I got my blood work back. She says I tested positive for ANA and 3 rhumeatoid arthritis markers, one of them being quite high. She threw out both lupus and rhumeatoid arthritis being possibilities so we're going to do more testing to figure that out. I don't have much swelling in my joints though so I'm getting an MRI to see if that'll show some damage that we can't see. She's also worried about auto immune neuropathy so I'm going to see a neurologist too.
You sound like a candidate for Genesight testing. Information at info@assurexhealth.com. It's a gene test that tells you what drugs will work for you. Depression, anxiety drugs, stimulants, ie Wellbutrin etal. Also what pain drugs will work based on your genes. You ask them for a list of docs close to you who preform this service and go to one who does, they take a cheek swab and in about 2 weeks you have your results back. It alerts you to drug interactions you could have as well as what drugs in 3 or 4 classes will work for you based on how you metabolize them. It's new and it's nothing short of a miracle for folks who need meds like Cymbalta and Wellbutrin. Quit guessing because that's all you and your doc are doing and find out what will work for you. Doctors can register for free and all it takes for them is a fifteen minute phone call. If your doc doesn't do it see one who does. Get your info and take it back to the doctor you have and like.
