Mysterious shortness of breath: What has helped you?

Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect, @itsnotanxiety. Congratulations on having read through all the posts in this discussion. It's a long one. Besides trying antacids, were there other suggestions in the discussion that you have tried? Did you discover any, like breathing exercises, that you think might be of help to you?

Hi, Colleen! I have tried Buteyko Breathing that was mentioned earlier in the post (in the past) and that works but at the same time make's me feel like this problem is in control of my life. I mentioned seeing a cognitive behavior therapist who tried hypnosis and a method called EFT tapping to reduce anxiety all of which has worked for a tempory amount of time or who know's it could've just been a placebo effect. I have noticed throughout these months my sinues feel always clogged even though they're not which might be something related. I may just try the SSRI's (Zoloft) and see if I feel any difference even though I doubt they'll work. I'm at the point where it's almost been a year and I'm willing to try just about anything.
