It’s good to know I’m not alone in this, a year ago I was driving home and out of the blue I couldn’t take a deep breath. I was also a little itchy I thought I had gotten into something. the next day the problem was worse went to the er. Was give a steroid, was sent to an allergy specialist ( no luck). Went to a pomologist it showed that I had some bronchial spasms was prescribed two inhalers ( none of them worked)
I had chest X-ray, CT scans, upper endoscopy, saw an ENT, saw phych, Thyroid testing, Lymph node biopsy All normal. I was prescribed ant acids and some ulcer meds nothing helped. In October I went to the ER because of stomach pains, they said my liver enzymes were up did a scan that showed my gallbladder wasn’t functioning. I had it removed on the 30th of December. But the issue with the deep breath continues. I also have throat weakness, often I have difficulty swallowing. I have also had rapid unexplained weight loss, and extreme fatigue.
Before all this I was a very healthy active person.
Does anyone else struggle with fatigue? Has anyone else had weight loss? I eat pretty healthy and take vitamins. I have not tried an alkaline diet so I think that would be my next step. Any other suggestions would be greatly appropriated.

Definitely struggle with fatigue ! I have tried everything as well and LITERALLY, this is gonna sound stupid to some, but the only things that helped me was anxiety meds(which took me years to agree to and I eventually got off of) but the one thing that helped me aside from that was yoga, breathing exercises in a yoga class!!! So find breathing classes for yoga or YouTube it and it will work! But I suggest you going to an actual yoga place and having instructor teach you how to do it and do a class with them that way you can do it at home on your own on a daily basis when you finish learning from them! It’s all about consistency what I think happened with us as we forgot how to breathe properly as stupid as that sounds and the best way to fix it is to go to classes to re-learn how to breathe but you can’t do it once and think you’re healed you have to be consistent with it until you do it as a second nature! I hope this helps

This sounds like a magnesium deficiency. I had many of the same symptoms...weight loss, difficulty swallowing, bronchial spasms (scary), allergic reactions. I also had acid reflux pretty severely. Magnesium deficiency can also cause gallstones (not sure if it can cause the gallbladder to stop functioning). My magnesium level was showing up normal on blood tests. There's a complicated reason for this but many people have had blood show normal range for Magnesium and when they supplemented, their symptoms resolved. I decided to start taking it in spite of what the test was showing and my symptoms improved greatly. I tell anyone experiencing unexplained symptoms consider looking into taking magnesium. It could take while to build up in your system and you have to find the right form for you (see previous post). Research it. Find people with similar symptoms. Keep up the faith. There is an answer somewhere, you just have to find it. It's time we all listen to our bodies. It's telling us something in our lives is not right.

@theomonster- Welcome to Mayo Connect. There is nothing scarier than thinking that you can breathe as you normally take your next breath and find that it is a struggle! We mentors are not doctors and can not give medical advice but we can help support you and help guide you to a possible solution or hints on how to tolerate your conditions better. I am a lung cancer survivor/patient and I know what SOB feels like. I've also had bronchial spasms. I have gotten them in my early days after surgery and I also get them with GERD. They hurt a lot! How long did you give the medicines a chance to work before you decided that they didn't work?
What does your PCP say about your weight loss and trouble swallowing. DO you think that you have unintentionally lost weight because of your trouble breathing or trouble swallowing?
This might be something that interests you. It is not a diagnosis.
