@davek yes, it could be. I tried treating mine at first with prilosec with no relief, so my doctor put me on something stronger (protonix ) this medicine not only stops the acid but heals the esophagus too.

@tonyagregg - I saw my primary care doctor on Friday. He prescribed me with Protonix 40mg for my GERD, switched from Prilosec. How long did it take for you to notice a difference in your breathing when you first started taking it?
