I have all of the same side effects

Wow!! Ive been on Metropolol 50mg XL for over a year and have gone through some nasty anxiety. But my cardiologist won't admit that it may be the cause of everything. After 3 bouts of A Fib the cardiologist put me on this stuff. Just curious have you been put on any new med since you stopped Metropolol? If so any better? Thanks

How long did it take for the side affected to go away after the medicine

Hi, I’m having a lot of the same symptoms as you, my Dr is going to wean me off of it soon, I’m on 50 mg a day, the side effects are miserable. My eyes are constantly watering, my nose pores like a faucet,anxiety,muscle pain, all my toes on my right foot are sometimes blue and staying cold and swollen, sick stomach, sunshine and lights are hurting my eyes. And a Lot more, it just takes me forever to type, it’s not helping my BP it’s still running high. I have COPD and a my breathing meds causes a lot of these symptoms but not the worst ones that’s all metoprolol, the cold sweats are getting worse. I’m taking it for Afib. But I just wanted to let you know how your side effects are so mine also.

How long did it take to feel better after discontinuing? Was your blood pressure still high after going off the metoprolol?

I want to personally thank you for listing your side effects. A little over two years ago I moved from MA to PA and switched cardiologists. I was on Metoprolol Succinate 25mg because I couldn’t tolerate a higher dose. My new primary wanted me to increase to 50mg which I did. I felt fine but with the Covid and not seeing my doctors in over a year I now wonder if my symptoms are actually side effects.

Shortness of Breath
Chills
Weakness
Fatigue
Lower extremity swelling
Numbness in my feet
My feet are red in the morning after sleeping at night
Weird Dreams
So many other symptoms
I have to go for tests Wednesday and then I am going to schedule appointments with both my cardiologist and primary. I basically can’t function when I use to be active. I have a pulse ox and thermometer and ordered a BP monitor this morning. I am actually thinking of doing 25mg every other day and 50 mg on the opposite days times one week then down to 25mg. Appreciate any feedback.

I know you posted this like 4 years ago but I'm on the same medication now. I've been taking it for about 2 months. It's giving me insomnia really bad. A doctor gave it to me to take cause my heart races on me. I think this is all wrong of a medicine for me. But did you just have to ride through all the side effects to get off. I would really appreciate ur help. Thanks. 😫

I am getting off Metoprolol now. The nausea is doing me in - same with Carvedilol. I am also having sores in my mouth, weakness, muscle pain, loss of hair and difficulty with breathing. I need to find a beta blocker that does not cause nausea. That seems hard to do.
