Posted by EES1 @ees1, Apr 8, 2018

I have an appointment this Thursday and looking for a room for Wednesday night. The Mayo Marriott is crazy-high at $241 for AAA. Any suggestions? Thanks!!!

@ees1 You can try Hotel.com or Hoteltonight.com (will need to download the app) they sell unsold rooms in the better hotels at deep discounts. If you want cheap, Holiday Inn on Beach Blvd, it was a little seedy looking when I stayed there last. I stayed because they allow dogs. There is AirB&B, an app where you can rent a private room or entire home/apt from an individual. If you need extended stay kind of place; you can contact a rental agency down there. Best of luck to you!

I only have experience with the Rochester campus, but there is a list of restaurants that have a delivery service to many of the area lodgings (for a fee). I have not used such a service, but there might be times when it might be handy.

Rosemary, Is the list you are referring to something that Mayo Rochester provides or someplace else? Thanks,

Since I been a patient at Mayo in Jacksonville. I have stayed at several different properties in and around the area. The Townplace Suites by Marriott, The Courtyard Marriott, LaQuinta Hotel, Holiday Inn Express Medical Center, and Fairfield Inn and Suites. In a couple weeks when I return, I will be staying at the Candlewood suites. @bamagirlgina Thank you for sharing your experience there..

@dandl48, I have never used the service. I saw it in , I think, the Rochester Dining Guide that was one of the pamphlets and brochures that I picked up in Mayo information or at lodging registration. I am sorry that I do not know the name.

Mayo Rochester has a (Free) Concierge Service. They should be able to assist you in locating meal delivery service. The Concierge Service can provide resources for whatever you need to know for your Mayo/Rochester visit.
Mayo Building
Lobby Level
Rochester, Minnesota
Hours for in-person advice: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

I have also seen many patients and visitors taking carry-out meals from the Clinic Cafeterias. They have a tasty menu with many options.

I have been to Mayo, Jacksonville many times. I have stayed at the Marriot (expensive) a couple of times. My preferred stay is at the Holiday Inn Express, 4791 Windsor Commons Court, (1/3 the cost of the Marriot price). They have very reliable shuttle service to the Mayo Clinic. Ask for the Mayo price for a room.

@ees1 I am a patient at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. We have stayed at several places in the area. I was there actually last week for surgergy. We stayed at the Fairfield Inn by Marriott on Lenior Blvd. It is a quick drive to the Mayo Clinic Campus. Takes us about 15 minutes. I really liked this hotel. I asked for a first floor room, and it worked out great. Walked in the side door to my room. Rooms are clean and we were right next to the breakfast room in the morning. Rooms should be around 100.00 less than the Mayo Marriott.. Good Luck with your visit ..Jackie
