Hi @ees1
I moved your message into the Visiting Mayo Clinic group and am tagging some members who have been to Jacksonville, Florida and may have some suggestions about accommodation in JAX. @windwalker @travelgirl @marydwyer51 @dazlin @wanttoscream @burrkay @bamagirlgina any lodging suggestions?

EES1 you might find the Mayo Clinic Florida visitor's guide helpful for planning too.

Thank you! You've always been so helpful!!

@ees1 I should also mention that many of the hotels in the Jacksonville area offer special hospital rates. You have to call them.directly to recieve the discount. I recommend you should deal directly with the hotel. This way if you need to change your reservation, it can easily get done. If you deal with an online travel agency. Many times you then need to contact the online agency to make changes. If you make your reservation directly with the hotel and mention you are a patient at a local hospital. They will go out of their way to make your stay most pleasant.

My wife and I both are patients at Mayo-Jacksonville and typically stay at the Hampton Inn 4681 LENOIR AVENUE SOUTH. The short drive to Mayo is not a problem...approx 10-15 minutes and minimal traffic. Call 1-800-Hampton for reservations. We have tried the Marriott Courtyard but a lot more expensive and the bed was soft, which my back did not like. The Hampton Garden Inn in Ponte Verda is nice, but a bit more traffic in the AM and more costly. For good seafood try Barbara Ann’s on the inter coastal.

Thank you! I'll call AND eat well!

@ees1, You have a great attitude! I hope that your visit and accommodations all work out for you.
Would you share when you get home about the lodging and food in the Jacksonville area? I feel that others will benefit from your experience.
Safe travels.
Thank you.

Of course!!

I have been to Mayo, Jacksonville many times. I have stayed at the Marriot (expensive) a couple of times. My preferred stay is at the Holiday Inn Express, 4791 Windsor Commons Court, (1/3 the cost of the Marriot price). They have very reliable shuttle service to the Mayo Clinic. Ask for the Mayo price for a room.

@ees1
I am going next week for my eval. Made reservations at Holiday Inn Express at Windsor Park. They have Mayo special rates. The reviews are good and it is very close...we will see...

@jeanne5009, I send you prayers for a safe journey, and for satisfactory evaluation.

@ees @jeanne5009 I have stayed at that Holiday Inn a few times. It is my facirite of all the hotels off mayo property. It is always very clean. Very well kept up too. I even asked if the prooerty was brand new.. Lol.. It is that nicely kept up. Breakfast was good too.. Convient close location as well..

I hope all goes well on your visit!. We will all cross our fingers. Could you if you dont mind, let us all know how it all goes?
Jackie..
