CT scan with contrast/ Found out in October and was stressed out, but now accepting it. What elese can i do? Hah
i discovered have a large one and the stress was ding me no good. I am now working out a lot, cutting my lifting of objects to under 25 pounds and watching my BP. As i say don't turn around as something may be following me with a black robe . I know its hard but try and alleviate your stress.
Thanks! Please keep posting! I am following you!
Has anyone discovered effective techniques or treatments to keep the size of the aneurism stable?
That's wonderful, @maryswims, I'm so pleased for you!
I'm glad it is stable!
I was being treated for PAC and they found my 4.4 cm dilated ascending aorta in August 2016. Just had another CT scan and it is stable.
I had the open surgery at Mayo at age 72 and while I was scared, everythng worked out very well. Went home after 8 nights and did very well. I was in the hospital a bit longer than most because my oxygen levels dropped at night. Had oxygen at home at night which was very easy to do for about a week.
I could do most anything after two weeks but didn’t exercise until four weeks after the surgery. At that time, I was enrolled in cardiac rehab and had no problems. Try not to worry as there are good answers in the medical community should your aneurysm grow. Best to you.
Yes, i was found to have one last october and had lots of anxiety. They told me the symptoms and i had none, but after hering them i had them all. Time to relax and monitor it. Mine in 4.8 with open heart at 5.0 so i try to not think about it. Spring will be here and much to take my mind off of it.
Sorry or 4.3 and not high BP - incidental
