ORAQUICK TEST.
How accurate is an oraquick test. Took one yesterday, exposure a year ago. Followed all directions to the letter., was negative .was concerned because the only complain I have is burning ne in my feet, tingling, etc, right foot bothers me s lot. Began in December 2016, went away in June last year, returned In December, took 4 gen hiv tests between jan-April last year, all negative., since symptoms are back, another HIV scare. Read that this is the first symptom?, so, the oraquick.

Hello @jlor. I did a bit of research on the oraquick home test and it appears that it is FDA approved, meaning it must have been tested thoroughly and have a reasonable amount of accuracy. However, even quick tests (positive ore negative) are recommended to be confirmed by a blood test with a medical provider or approved community HIV center. @jlor, you mentioned you have had previous scares and tests, but you had blood tests done and they were negative as well?
Yes, last year I had HIV 4th gen tests in Jan, feb, march, April , 2017, all negative.

This is from the Oraquick website, "Oral fluid HIV tests are very accurate. In studies, the OraQuick In-Home HIV Test detected 91.7 percent of people who were infected with HIV, and 99.9 percent of people who were not infected with HIV."
I cannot speak to the authenticity of Oraquick's claims however. If you still have concerns, I recommend getting blood work done and speaking with your medical provider. Will 4 negative oraquick tests be conclusive after 3 months?

If you have concerns beyond the oraquick tests, I highly recommend getting a full test done with your medical provider or at an approved HIV testing center. You can find centers near you using this resource, https://locator.hiv.gov/.
