Hi, I know it is not easy to quite smoking but it is possible. I quite after 10 years of smoking, I smoked 20-30 cigarettes a day and noticed that I was not fit anymore, bad cough in the morning and the smell. I knew I had to do something, so I told myself I wanted to quite smoking "not forever", but just for a certain time, for me it was 10 years. Consequently, if I don't like the 10 years without a cigarette then it was ok for me to start smoking again. This idea which I had always in my head helped me a lot. It encouraged myself that every day that passed without a cigarette, I was closer to that day that I can smoke again. In addition, I stopped going to bars, no alcohol, coffee or anything what I used to do with a cigarette. Also, I started walking/running in the morning at least for 30 minutes. I think after going through that for 90 days which was not easy, I "never ever" would have put a cigarette in my mouth. Actually, I even became a marathon runner, trekker in the Himalayas and did do many things which I couldn't have done as a smoker. After quitting smoking I realized how beautiful life is, how much stronger I am, can do and appreciate so many things in life. I wish you all the best, just be strong...you can do it!!!

@pranas Good for you! What a great idea for motivation! I am glad it worked so well and that you have reaped the benefits of such an enhanced life! I have also heard that your senses of smell and taste return and are more enhanced after quitting smoking.

Hi Christel- Good for you for quitting, although I find the process you used very risky. I think that giving yourself permission to one day chance another or more cancer is a dangerous goal. It's playing Russian Roulette with your health. Just try and keep in sight the reason why you wanted to quit in the first place! Why go back there?

Hi... I would like to point out, that there are more ways and methods to quit smoking, every person is different and has to pick the method they feel is right for them or recommended by their medical team. My way was just "my success story" it does not apply to every person!

The reason for me to make the comment in this group is to encourage/help people ... there are ways and methods to quit smoking, if it's a patch or medication ... just do it ...it is well worth it ... but never give up!!!

Yes, definitely taste and smell become much more sensitive ... after quitting there are only good things which come out or came out for me 🙂

congratulations I am trying
