@gman007 Thank you Gary, I appreciate the support from everyone. With this COPD you would think it would be easy. I noticed it has been getting worse and I do not want to be on oxygen so I will keep trying and believe I will be successful! It is hard to do when another person smokes also. Not inside but like you said I can smell it on him. Thank you for the prayers. God Bless.
I also smoked for over 40 years. Very emotional trying to quit. I used every excuse to go back. It’s easy to compromise when we crave a cigarette. About 25 years ago I realized if I wanted to live I had to quit. I now have copd but thank God I quit as I can still breathe. You have to make a decision. Either continue smoking or quit. Hardest thing I ever did but if you want to. You can. I pray you make the right decision for you. God bless you on your journey.
@jo54 Yes it is very emotional and I do the same thing every excuse in the book. I also have COPD but I noticed that my breathing is getting worse so that is what I am telling myself if I want to breathe then I have to quit.
@jo54 Thank you and I appreciate the prayers. God Bless
@littleonefmohio I smoked for about 30 years and tried everything like you. My wife has very bad allergies and even though I only smoked outside, it got to the point that she could not handle the smell on my clothes and nicotine is really bad for someone with chronic pancreatitis. It took the combination of those two factors, but more than anything a real desire to be free from cigarettes. I have come to believe that you can't do anything if you are not doing it because you want to. Hang in there and I will say a prayer for success!
