Barrett’s esophagus
Looking for info and help with Barret’s esophagus. I can’t figure out just how serious this is. I have read way too much online! I don’t really know how strict my diet really has to be. It is really stressful-. Does anyone here have it? And exactly how serious is it?

One thing I do is I stop eating at 3pm everyday. I do this so when I go to bed I have no food in my system for me to get acid reflux. So far I've had no acid reflux.
I have Barrett's Esophagus, have had it since around 2012 I think, but I guess mine must be very mild. I am just on 20mg of omeprazole a day and things are good. I have been told the restrictions -- coffee, acid type foods, etc., but my gastro did say that I could have a cup of coffee in the morning if I wanted it, so I do. So far no problem. I am due for an endoscopy soon so I hope it is still the same.

Let us know your results after the egd. I've been buying health wise coffee from Amazon.
PH is 6.18 which is very low acid. Not bad tasting either.
@riflemanz64 Thanks. I just went to Amazon and put a 12 pack in my shopping cart to try it out.

I use a bunn drip coffee maker which is about a 10 cup pot and I only use 3 tablespoons of coffee for it. You don't need much with this coffee.
JK, how did your egd go?
@riflemanz64 My endoscopy was originally scheduled in August. I made that appointment last year, but since my son proposed and is getting married this month I had to reschedule and will be having it in September. I am a bit hoarse some days so I am nervous that it has gotten worse.

Have a great wedding! Hopefully the hoarseness isn't a major problem. Keep us posted!
Hi y’all!
Yes JK — have a great wedding like rifleman said and then go get that EGD! I’ll bet your Barrett’s will be fine! Mine stayed the same getting no worse for about 18 years before it developed the low grade dysplasia!
Pdilly, how is your treatment going? Rf treatments? What does your GI Doc say about the low grade dysplaisa? I'm curious about what I can expect in the future. Hope your condition is stable.
