Can I go from daily Morphine to pain control from CBD oil
I am new at this, so please give me some leeway.
I currently take 2 60mg ER morphine with 3 30 mg fast acting for break thru pain. I have been at this amount for at least 6 years now.
There are many problems taking morphine and with the current anti drug climate I am looking for other ways to manage my pain.
My hopes lean in the direction of CBD oil, and I have had some good results with it so far. It probably will work from 50 to 60% of the time.
I am thinking that I can use CBD oil with THC for the times CBD doesn't work by itself.
One hope I have is I will not be as physically dependent on the CBD and THC as I am on Morphine. Maybe even have some normal days.
My question to the group is, Has any one had any experience in this regard? Will the CBD with THC help me with my withdrawal from the morphine?
My actual time on morphine is close to 14 years. The hardest question is will I be jumping from the frying pan to the fire?
I know I am asking a lot but any help or personal experience would be a great help.

I'm currently on day 3 of withdrawing from 70mg of methadone and heroin daily. I've been taking methadone daily for the past 2 and a half years. Abusing the heroin for 8. Every time in the past I've attempted to stop the opiates by day 3 I'd be squirming in pain and so out of my mind in misery I'd buckle and go use. This time I had an opportunity to leave my current surroundings to detox using thc oil. Mind you thc oil is different from cbd oil. From what I've experienced in the past 3 days and what I've been told is you need the thc oil for the healing properties it offers. I've been taking heavy doses of the oil religiously. Whenever I start to get uncomfortable take a huge dropper full of oil. This stuff is a miracle. Im so shocked at how well I feel considering the circumstances. With addiction I think it's important to also change locations if possible. It's easier to detox knowing you can't just run down the road and grab some thing. With these little things I do believe you can beat opiod withdrawal. As well as absolutely detox using ThC oil. There's still going to be some discomfort. The oil really does help with the worst of it. I actually have a bit of an appetite which is nice. Generally in this state food just doesn't mix well. Hope this helps some one out there. Remember oil is from Gods earth. It's safer than any pharmaceutical out there.
Hello. I just read ur inquiry about morphine to cbd oil. I had been a opiate user for over 17 years, Haydn back problems, got prescribed oxycodone, got severely addicted to those. I then started using heroin, which is basically a derivative of morphine and OxyContin. Anyways, I have gone through times of severe withdrawals, and now that cbd oil is legal, for me, has been a god send. I have been on and off suboxone for years, and the problem with suboxone is getting clean off that is just as hard as getting off any other opiate for me. That being said, suboxone saved my life., still, it’s hard to get off as well. But with cbd oil, my withdrawals have been cut by 75% which is unbelievable. U would be so smart to get with the cannibis plant than ANY opiate. U live with chronic pain, but u won’t get severe or any withdrawals from cbd oil. Hope this helps
My wife uses CBD oil for her chronic pain. She says it ".........takes the edge off of the pain.........". Given this I would seriously doubt that CBD oil would be a replacement for something as strong as morphine.
I'm a 64 year old woman who had been taking morphine (anywhere from 60-120mg/day) and hydrocodone (up to [3] 5/325/day) for 8 years. In March of 2018 I went through Mayo's Pain Rehabilitation 3-week program. It was the best thing I ever did for my pain! I was able to get off the opiates as well as 2 benzodiazepines (for anxiety) and methylphenidate (an ADD drug). My pain is fairly severe, ranging from a "2" on a very good morning, to an "8/9" on bad days. I now manage my pain through exercise, mindfulness, diaphragmatic breathing, and distraction. Also I still take 1800mg of gabapentin/day.
Recently I tried CBD oil for 10 days and feel that it's marginally helpful in pain reduction. I know that marijuana (THC & CBD) is much more effective for me but alas, medical marijuana is not yet legal in WI.
If I can recommend anything, it would be that you try to be seen at Mayo with the intention of qualifying for their 3-week pain rehab program. They will help you come off the morphine. Actually, I titrated down and off my morphine under the supervision of my pain MD prior to going to Mayo. I did not find it difficult to get off the morphine because I did it slowly under the advisement of my doctor. Even if you don't do Mayo's Pain Rehab program, I would advise you not to stop the morphine on your own. Do it under a doctor's supervision and it will go much smoother!
I was, and still am, amazed that I no longer use any opiates! I do not feel any worse for it, in fact, it has given me my life back! If you can wean yourself off the morphine first, before trying CBD oil, that would be the best course, I think.

I wish you all the best!
It's legal in the US, Trump did it but for certain diseases. Washington, CA, Colorado, MI, not sure which other states but it's legal in them.
@janhilaski I think it's legal in all 50 states I,be heard
Hi there. How did it go? Did you find relief/switch over to cbd oil? I want to do something similar. I’m from Canada.
I use CBD:THCA tincture (sublingual drops) instead of my opioid sometimes and it does relieve my pain. Usually lasts about 4-4.5 hours. So it does allow me to decrease my opioid use. I prefer drops because I know exactly how much I am taking. I also keep a journal of how much I take and how I feel so that I know which ratio of CBD and THC works best for me. I have had chronic pain for over 25 years in my spine, hips, and wrist/hands, headaches and my pain levels can go up to 7-8/10.
Wow it’s like we’re the same person. I am doing the exact same thing now. I did research and found an old article, just anecdotal evidence of course. For active opiate user with a long hard habit, 1000mg per day for 6 months worked best, achieved lifelong abstinence. Previous treatment of patient was 100mg three times a day, achieved 6 month abstinence. Long term opiate use damages your endocrine (hormone) system. Cbd (and THC , to some extent) work to bring our bodies to a state of homeostasis, or balance. But it takes time. Opiates didn’t ravage our bodies that quickly and The Sacred Herb can work well but not super quickly. Think of our Endocannabinoid System as a bunch of tugboats cleaning up an oil spill, pushing a boom. Takes time to mop up the opiate mess. Hope all is/went well with your plan, since it’s my plan too. And I’ve been chasing the dragon 🐉 for almost 20 years. And it’s slowly killing me. I’m hoping this will be like my armour to slay the Dragon. 🤗
