Hello @miamom,

I am so happy that you posted here on Connect. I am Teresa, a volunteer mentor, and I've also had some heart problems both with heart rate, and valve issues so I do understand how uncertainty about a diagnosis can make everything worse! I applaud you for seeking out information - here at Connect we encourage everyone to be their own advocate for good health care. We also encourage second opinions when needed.

How far do you live from a larger medical facility? Is it within reason to drive so that you can put your mind at ease regarding this?

Thank you, Teresa! A larger facility is only about an hour away - not bad at all - and, I am leaning towards consulting with them, just to be sure everything is ok, although from reading on this page it sounds very likely that it is - this is much more common than I realized. It's strange to me how it just started 'out of nowhere' and has been persistent but likely nothing to worry about, thank goodness. 🙂

@miamom I am happy to hear that you are thinking about getting a second opinion - always a good idea! I am also glad to hear that you are feeling more at ease with, as you say your, "out of nowhere" situation. It does take a while to adjust to a new medical condition.

I would enjoy hearing from you again. If you get a second opinion, will you let me know how that goes?
