Dang, girl. You're not feeling old yet? Now I'm feeling ancient. I love the old rock and roll. Ya, ya, I need to quite the cigs. Severe COPD and moderate to severe emphysema. I've cut down considerable, but it's that last push to fully quit that I'm having a hard time with. Has quitting smoking helped and, if so, any tried and true techniques you can pass on?

I forgot to answer your question about if I notice a difference from not smoking. The first thing is I no longer have to hear my sons say, you smell like a cigarette, that used to really get on my last nerve.

I can breathe slightly better. But there has been no massive coughing like everyone said would happen as my lungs repair themselves. I really don't think they can repair after all those years. It is good not to have that constant craving addiction. I didn't want to have coffee without a cig, talk on the phone without a cig, have a beer without a cig. pretty much everything, the cig controls you. It is so nice to be free of that.
