Lutathera Trial

Posted by goebels @goebels, Dec 14, 2017

Hello, was curious about the status of the trial on this treatment at Mayo. Is it complete or wrapping up? I am also under the assumption from research the FDA is nearing a decision on this treatment on or before January 26, 2018. Then what happens? Insurance approval I'd imagine would take awhile, then would Mayo have priority access to offer it? Any details would be much appreciated, we are hearing positive news and remain optimistic about its usage. Happy Holidays to all.

Hello @goebels,

Welcome to Connect. I think this link may help you, http://www.mayo.edu/research/clinical-trials/cls-20337811. Is this the information you were looking for? It looks like all three sites are still enrolling for this clinical trial. I can't, however, speak on the eligibility requirements and exclusion criteria though. The clinical trial page does include contact information for each site and it would be in your best interest to give those numbers a call. Keep the clinical trial information pulled up so you can accurately tell the person who answers your call the trial in which you are referencing. They may also be better equipped to answer your questions about FDA approval and insurance.

@goebels, if you don't mind sharing, are you currently diagnosed with a NET?

Yes, my wife had a recurrence. She had a hysterectomy/oophorectomy in November performed at Mayo AZ. While in for surgery, other tumors were discovered, some taken out, others inoperable. We are looking for the Lutathera treatment to help target these tumors.

Hello @goebels

Last December you posted regarding your wife's recurrence and I was thinking about her. Did she find Lutathera treatment? How is she doing?

I look forward to hearing from you again.

Hi, we just had a Gallium 68 PET scan which her oncologist recommended. Awaiting the results and next steps in treatment. Unclear to us if Lutathera is on the menu, will wait for the good doctors at Mayo to tell us. She feels great. Thanks for asking.
