Thanks, @contentandwell, I knew that you were highly experienced in the matter of high ammonia levels and you could answer the question well. How is your knee surgery healing?

There is not a gym for wimps, if you go and do anything other than say hello, you're not a wimp!

@contentandwell, I was sure that you were on top of the transplant part of your treatment. It is evident that you are very proactive with your health.
I can feel the relief in your responses today since you met with your surgeon. As Teresa says, It is a good thing that you made so many wedding preps in advance! Gradual improvement without over doing it, and the pain management should work wonders for you during the next weeks prior to the festivities.
I completely understand what you mean about questioning the transplant drugs! I have shared the same concern with my own transplant team on several occasions, and...I got the same response from them!

@hopeful33250 Thanks Teresa. When I took this on, at my daughter’s request, all of the little things did not occur to me — enough chairs, glassware, plates, all of that. We went to a rental place and were able to rent exactly the number of things we need — 5 additional chairs, nicer than bridge chairs, some plates — I do not mind eclectic, nor does my daughter. We both sort of like that. I am renting enough flatware for everyone. Colored cloth napkins. We are renting quite a bit and when we got the final price it was under $100 so not too much in the whole scheme of things, thankfully. I ordered a wedding cake this week. I was able to order it this late because it’s a very small wedding cake — an 8” tier and a 6” tier. Amazingly my daughter and I both agreed on what our favorite cake was from all the designs on the website! So I am feeling pretty well ready. My only regret is that our son will not make it home since he will be coming two weeks later for the reception in NYC, and then for Christmas.

@hopeful33250 I hope I will get my independence back, but not sure how much longer I will need the narcotics. It certainly gives me incentive to get off of them.

JK @contentandwell

Try to give yourself the time you need - I understand how difficult it is!

Teresa

JK, @contentandwell,

You have this planned to the last detail, good work! Try and rest so that you can enjoy your efforts when the big day comes.

Teresa

@hopeful33250 Thanks Teresa. I have to keep going over it all in my mind to make sure I have everything I need on hand. Fortunately I have a good assortment of things, they won’t match but as I commented before, that’s fine with me and with my daughter. I sure wish she was a bit more on top of things though. The big NYC celebration is in three weeks and she still does not have a dress! She sends me pictures of ones she likes but she is trying to not be too indulgent so she won’t spend over a certain amount. She would never find anything in her price range if she was wearing an actual wedding dress.
JK

Hi @contentandwell

While I certainly do admire her desire to keep costs down, I can see that her desire to find the right dress at the price she wants to pay as adding to her stress right now. Is she aware that this is a stress for her?

Teresa

@hopeful33250 Teresa, I agree 100%. Sometimes you just have to move forward and DO IT, even when it is not quite what you want for some reason. She tries to be frugal though, unlike my son. Oddly though she doesn’t seem stressed by this, I think it stresses me more than it does her! She was heading out to Bloomingdales this afternoon to see if she could find anything there. I sure hope she did, I will text her in a little while. I know if she finds nothing within a couple of days that will be when she does get stressed. Before our vacation I pretty much got all of that done because I did not want to put it off until after vacation and knee replacement. I am so glad I did. The problem is these days that the stores do not carry much so you have to order online, then figure out if it works for you. What a nuisance that is.
JK

@contentandwell

Yes, I agree. It becomes more difficult to shop the later it gets. Perhaps she will have been successful at Bloomingdales today.
