Other pain medications for Polymyalgia Rheumatica besides prednisone

Just wondering if anyone else takes anything else for pain along with the prednisone. My husband takes Aleve everyday as well as his prednisone.

I am taking 1/2 tramadol in the am and 1/2 tramadol in the evening. Seems to help.

have been on methotrexate for more than 7 years. it worked well for me. except now i have a very bad anemia which methotrexate can cause. perhaps it is causing my anemia so i have elected to stop the shots. guess i will now have more pain from the ra and pa but maybe i will live longer? ha ha. but LIFE IS GOOD. peachbarb

@peach414144, Do you have anyone who can take you to different doctors/specialist maybe in a larger city? You are not that old at 80! I know several people in their 80s and 90s and they are well taken care of by their doctors and are in good health. Don't let them give you the run around. If you can't find another doctor, insist that they diagnose and TREAT your problem with your feet. By letting it go, the situation could become worse for you. nope, no one. i have thought of this but my friends have either passed away or they cannot drive that far. but i thank you for yhour concern really and truly. think i'll play a game on the internet for now. thank you.
