@laurask

I could not agree more about the benefits of music. I’ve played the violin since the age of eight, but because of my severe poly neuropathy, I wasn’t able to use this as an outlet anymore. My first attempt at playing was devastating. Second attempt; I was able to hold the bell perfectly and somewhat play. By the third attempt weeks later, I was able to use vibrato and actually PLAY! Music is such a huge part of my life and I completely believe in its healing powers.

@laurska I'm happy for you that you can enjoy your violin again so important to have music in your life I agree. I use to play the coronet long ago but enjoyed it .

@laurask How wonderful, Laura, that you were able to go back to the music that you love.

Yes, Laura, I believe that music heals the body and the soul! So uplifting! I sing with a senior choir and after a two hour rehearsal every week
our aches and pains are gone!
We are transported to another place: no pain, no strife.

P.S.
Who said “When you sing, you pray twice.”?

Big congratulations on your perseverance.
You did not give up!
When I was a child a nun who taught piano also introduced the violin to us. I had an old violin to play. I read that the tonal quality of violins improve as they age. Hope that is the same for the ‘players’!!
