Is that dentist located in MN?
There heart of the issue IS NOT bruxism, that is just one of the symptoms.... ugh
Furthermore, bruxism and TMJ are not the same!
I have bruxism and TMJ. One aggravates the other in my case. I am in need of having the splint built back up again. I am a clicher by day and a grinder by night.
Hello everyone. The bruxing /grinding continues from Hubby, especially when he is "thinking". He is most times unaware of this. Honestly it is SO annoying...SO how i deal with it...I remove myself from the area..Sometimes i make him aware.
Dental visits have been non conclusive and we just cope.
Wishing you all the best for the Festive Season.
Agreed!
Does your friend suffer from migraines?
If so, has she seen a migraine (neurology) specialist?
Also, with lump on her back, a movement disorder specialist (neurology).
I’ve been suffering for 40 years, after a swimming accident, diving into shallow water, TMJ disc dislocated without treatment and without recommended surgery, at 9 years old. What you described, I also have and many other symptoms and diagnoses. Please, continue to advocate for your friend. This is serious, as you know, and healthcare professionals lack the education on TMJ Disorders and the secondary and many symptoms/diagnoses that come from it. It’s truly heartbreaking to not be heard by our providers. Being told, “it’s all in your head” being laughed at, being dismissed, being led on as if you’re crazy and getting a referral for behavioral health, is cruel and lazy, but when the “experts” who are only practicing can’t keep it real, don’t know what is going on, that’s how they respond.
So, anyways, I think you’re outstanding for being an advocate for your friend. Seriously, thank you for caring for her. Those two specialists are now helping me and I’m finally on the right path! It takes time with imaging and all that, but praise God it is happening!
I went to a Maxillofacial dentist for my TMJ woes. The mouthguard is so much better than what the dentist makes. I also do the basic TMJ exercises, also massage bones behind my ears and the lower ossipital bone area of my skull. I also follow Dr Jo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vrz25x3qnTY
