Starting Orgovyx - how long for side effects to occur?
I've been taking Orgovyx for about 3 weeks and so far have zero side effects: no hot flashes, no fatigue or tiredness, no weight gain, no ED, nothing. I'm not complaining, but I'm on pins and needles waiting for stuff to start.
For background, I am in good shape and very active, I've been running for years and run 4-5 days a week, 30 - 35 miles, and also resistance train 2-3 days/week. I have no idea if that's what's doing it, but I'd be doing it anyway.

@johndattilo Discuss this with your Oncologist. Orgovyx usually causes a decrease in red cell counts, not white so Orgovyx may not be the cause. How many months have you been on Orgovyx and what is the treatment plan?
anyone have heart issues when starting orgovyx? prolonged qt?
@jim18 6 months but have a History of Feltys’ syndrome
@johndattilo
Your white blood cells are low due to radiation. White blood cells are extremely sensitive to RT and die very fast. Also, RT effects production of new white blood cells since it stunts bone marrow in pelvic area where they are produced.
Patients usually recover WBC count in couple of months after RT , some need more time and very small percent have low WBC forever if RT damaged WBC stem cells.
My husband had both WBC and RBC effected by RT but both started rising and now 5 weeks later Neutrophils are normal count and RBC almost normal. He is taking immunity boosting vitamins and herbs and he also got B12 shot from his doctor which stimulates red cell production. This is of course not necessary, I just wanted to speed up recovery process for my husband and made sure he is doing all of this.
Hot flashes began in the first week of starting orgovyx and have continued since.
@lm1
I had a lot of problems with abiraterone Because of it’s effect on the heart and QT. It caused me to have five afib events. I switched from Lupron and abiraterone to Orgovyx and Darolutamide And my afib events have stopped.
I’m not saying that the QT issue is completely resolved, But I don’t seem to be having afib so Orgovyx Doesn’t seem to be causing a problem.
@jime51 Thank you for the positivity. I need that.
