Your experiences with Jiffy Knee replacement?

Had TKR 4 years ago that has not gone well. But arthritis has invaded other knee so I am looking at alternative surgeries or treatments. Your suggestions based on your experience?

Jiffy knee can be great in the hands of a great surgeon; it can be awful in the hands of a poor surgeon.

As has been stated, find a great surgeon who does subvastus (superset for Jiffy knee) and you will be on your way to a successful surgery. Practice makes perfect so ensure that whichever surgeon you choose, the surgeon will be vastly experienced at your procedure.

Sorry, I havent had Jiffy Knee surgery yet. But steve in arizona gives good advice.

I’ve had one of each TKR . My first was a regular knee surgery in 2021 knee is great. I had jiffy knee Aug 2026, still in rehab. They both in my experience have challenges. I was 64 degrees and 0 degrees one day post op with regular TKR, jiffy I was greater than 90 degrees and 2 degrees same day surgery. Can get to 126 degrees and 0 now but quad and hamstrings are weak. A work in progress.

My magician is Dr. Jimmy Chow. He was an engineer before becoming a doctor and he has something like 20 patents. He is the primary inventor of the Superpath method of minimally invasive hip replacement.

There is one caveat however. He does not participate in Medicare and does not take most insurance. However his fee is a reasonable $5,500. Everything else was covered by my Medicare Advantage PPO plan but one should make sure that one's insurance will cover everything else.
