Great idea to measure the amount. Inhave seen progress with urination in the last week. Like you husband probably do more KEGEL than many. I can notice small improvement with less leakage when needed to go to the bathroom. I do change pads when they are damp or have a shooter .. like to change before bed nightly for comfort..its been 11 days since the catheter. Being told its a long game getting back to normalcy
PT is on the list once the green light from surgion. I want to start but had to be patient. I walked prior to surgery 8-10 miles daily plus some other activities so inget a little stir crazy. My spouse keeps reminding me to take it easy and follow the Dr plan . Thank you for replying and suggestions

Yes measuring lets you see the progress. Keep the excising and doing kegels. I found after starting PT that there are many different positions to do kegels in and some are much more beneficial and what is most important is breathing. And if you can inhale abdominal, start slow exhale, then start a kegel contraction while doing a complete exhale on all air in abdominal. If can't do that just breath normal, most important don't hold breath. One good position is to sit in chair and squeeze a volleyball or bigger pillow together with knees while doing an exhaling kegel. Also, use an elastic band and tie knees together and pull knees apart while doing an exhaling kegel.

Thank you
I have figured out the breathing. I have done them standing, sitting leaning over i can feel the penis move. The laying down some too.
I will try your suggestions with pillow and ball, thank you..
I have been doing about 100 per day breaking up 30 or so morning, afternoon and evening. I walk about 3 miles per day too. Dr limits my miles for now . Anything else or suggestions please pass along. Sure appreciate you
Catheter out for two weeks tomorrow so its a longer road than weeks but maybe months. Im OK with either just skip the pads/depends. I seem to leak much less when im upright .
At times the urgency is ofen for urination. How did you train the bladder or does it take a while

It's been 6 months for me and after about a month nights were not too bad. For some reason if I am sitting down visiting, driving or laying down sleeping I don't leak much and will get the normal urge to get up a pee and have a normal stream. During the day, it's a different story. That is when I leak the most and never hardly ever feel the need to go pee. However I do go and am able to, but not a stream like if I had been sleeping or sitting. Even laying on couch watching TV after a couple hours I will feel the need to go. But not if up and moving around. At night I normally only leak 1 to 2 ML. The shield feels dry in the morning, but the scales don't lie. I bet some of it is sweat. So far in October I am leaking 15 - 22 ml a 24 hr period, that has been a big improvement. One day when doing a lot of work, I did have 33ml. Hopefully I get over this and over the ED, they just tell me it takes time. I haven't done anything to train bladder. During pelvic therapy they didn't mention anything for that, just said try to pee every so often even if I didn't feel the urge.
