Neuropathy scams update
I fell hard for a scam from Quiet Nerves because the AI promoter was Dr. Yoshinori Ohsume, a Nobel Prize Winning Dr of Medicine. He spun a good tale about his wife's neuropathy. I knew of him. Knew he was legit and bought $850 of the supplements that "cured" his wife. It never occurred to me that it was AI until I got off line and went searching for the Quiet Nerves website (one page). I'm disputing it with my bank for fraud. And QN is now offering me a 50% refund. This came in my email yesterday.
"The New York Times found hundreds of A.I.-generated doctors, healers and wellness influencers on social media touting the health benefits of supplements to American consumers. Many of these hyperrealistic looking ads promise medical miracles, and appear to be targeting older women, while making misleading health claims for a profit."

2 ReactionsFor general education (eye opener!) on scams, look up Jordan Liles on You Tube. He does mothing but expose hundreds of Scams. You learn what to look for.
Most of the ads on FB with long stories professed to be supported by famous people are scams.
These pills from a company called Axon Labs and were advertised by Dr. Sanjay Gupta and musician Alan Jackson on a LONG video on Facebook. They said that their presentation was once featured on the TV show 60 Minutes. The pills nicknamed "sugar nerve reset,"were advertised as having Celon Cinnamon and other ingrediants. It was said that their trial period group reported a 45 day reset of their periferal neuropathy symptoms. Can anyone report success with these pills? Thank you in advance for your feedback. 10/7/2026
There is another thread on this topic…looks like a scam…

3 Reactions@geoffwag3 so many scammers today. Especially those using famous people to convince you to buy something. This is a classic propaganda tactic by the way. 😡

I have used several that provide some immediate relief:
most recent is CeraVe itch relief 12oz jar. Somebody on this site recommended it and I gave it a shot and surprisingly it works! Intense burning and dry feeling tissue I have been experiencing for several years will calm within minutes but not sure why. It has Pramoxine as active ingredient but also works like a good dry skin cream. Yes about 40 ingredients in it so who knows why it works at least for an hour or so. I before and after walks or when I can no longer stand the pain. I use Wise-men cream at bedtime with Frankincense and Myrrh to get me to sleep. Long time (19 yrs) idiopathic PN sufferer. I note that many of the advertised products are purchased because we are manipulated into thinking "somebody really cares". This Mayo site is the closest resource for true life experiences with the products so at least we have that. Oh! No guarantees these will work for you just because it worked for me. Both products were recommended on this site and both have helped with burning pain. WiseMen 4oz $12-14 direct, CeraVe itch relief 12oz $29 Amazon.

I was watching SNL tonight and a Mr Wonderful parody was featured on Weekend Update! I had never heard of Mr Wonderful!
Yes, those internet scams are a terrible waste of time, and A..I. Is making them even more dangerous and deceptive. Trust Mayo.

1 Reaction@xottawan We watched quite a few "Shark tank" episodes so Mr. Wonderful is known to us. Now, whenever see any ads with celebrity endorsements, I automatically click out of it.

4 ReactionsIf you filed with your bank, you can back that up with a report filed here: https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/assistant and here: https://www.ic3.gov/ -- I just did for an ecommerce issue for PayPal dispute (resolved in my favor) but the report alone backs the fraud claim. I'm sorry that happened to you. The only supplements I take are Solgar (standardized batches): B12 (sublingual; B complex), D3 (sublingual), Cod liver oil (A+D), Mg, Iron, Folate, but my blood levels are mostly normalized (tho' RBCs are stubbornly anemic) so I don't take anything but B12 daily. Good luck <3
