Anyone have experience with Medrol Dose Pack for Reclast side effects?
My doctor recommended pedialyte and tylenol for three more days (through Monday) and that if things aren't better I then use a Medrol Dose Pack (prednisone) to try to counteract the side effects I'm getting from my Reclast infusion.
Nothing is getting better.
Anyone every use this medication for this purpose?

janism, I haven't taken either medication, but I'm pleased that your doctor knows about it and taking your side effects seriously. I've read patient reports on pub med of individuals have severe responses resolved by IV steroids in the emergency hospital. And some clinics in Korea are giving steroid before the injection. Loriesco wasn't taking any chances she had the steroid in hand before the infusion.
I think it will help but hope it resolves quickly.
Cheers to your doc.
Yes, I did do a 5 day course of prednisone and it did nothing for me! I was told for it to work it really needed to be given ASAP after the Reclast infusion; my prescription was given 15 months after! Best of luck for you!

1 ReactionTaking the prednisone (now on day 4 of 6 day course) and now about 10 days away from the Reclast infusion.
I'm still getting muscle spasms at night that stop me from sleeping and general exhaustion either from the infusion or lack of sleep. The worst though is that I have brain fog way beyond what would normally happen due to the sleeplessness. I forget everything--my boss' name, the keys in my car--you name it. I work full time as a teacher and have two kids at home. This is a disaster.

4 ReactionsWhen I had (and still have) side effects from ReClast, I took prednisone. I tried everything the Doctors recommended. No medication even touched it. It’s been one year and I still have the side effects, although less intense. I can honestly say that ReClast has ruined what is left of my life. It will affect me forever. It is POISON.

6 ReactionsI think that when choosing a specialist, it could help to ask the doc if they will give you support with side effects…that is a key part of treatment with these strong meds…

A methylprednisolone dosepak isn’t strong enough or taken long enough to do much good. You have to take a larger dose of Prednisone to block your immune system. I had to take it for 9 months after I stopped Temlos to get my immune system to calm down and tapering the dose was a problem.
The side effects of Temlos were horrible, but Prednisone was the only relief I had prior to back surgery.

2 Reactions@nycmusic only support I’ve found from the Reclast infusion is none! I’ve had bad side effects for over 27 months now and I hurt daily! I’ve tried prednisone, Aleve and Tylenol; Tylenol takes the edge off the pain, nothing helps the fatigue, nausea, tiredness, vision issues! Endrocrologist only knows how to build bone , nothing to do with potential side effects
